Player Profile Websites Overseas

Congrats to Stephen Bevan for getting a full ride golf scholarship to the University of Pacific! On top of that he was our first international amateur athlete that used the Player Profile Website to get recruited! Our goal is to take these websites and start the branding process with all of the athletes overseas that are feeling lost and want to get recruited in the states. Please contact me if you have any questions or leave a comment below.

Player Profile Websites on Sale for the Holidays

With the holidays coming up this week, we decided to throw the Player Profile Websites on sale. Normally the price of the Websites are 449.00, but we have lowered it to 297.00!! That is less than a baseball glove or bat! This is a great stocking stuffer! Well, only if you can fit your computer into your stocking! Either way, this would be a great gift to give yourself or child for the holidays. A web-based platform that enables one to be proactive with their career and potentially better their chances of getting recruited, to me, is well worth the 297.00 investment.

Below is a tutorial video walking you through the functionalities of the Player Profile Websites. Enjoy!

At the very least, it is imperative you purchase your son/daughter’s domain property. It is a great starting point even if you are not ready to make the Player Profile Website jump. Domain investors are constantly searching high school top prospect lists and buying up their names in bulk, banking on the fact of selling them at a serious profit in the near future. This is especially true once an amateur athlete makes it in the professional rankings. Click on the image below to reserve your domain property. It costs roughly 11.00/year.

FAQs on the Player Profile Web sites

I received several responses from my last email regarding the Player Profile Web sites. Here are a few of the great questions I received:

1. Am I limited to only one video on my site?

No, you aren’t. On your video page, you have the optional upgrade of unlimited videos. However, the simplest way to get multiple videos is to post the video as part of one of your blogs. You can use the embed code once you upload the video to YouTube and paste that embed code in your blog. Once you click publish, the video will be ready to go! Remember, if any of this terminology sounds like another language to you, we can guide you through the set up process.

2. Do you recommend purchasing all of my son’s domain name extensions?

I only recommend getting the .COM, .TV, and .ME extensions, as others have shown not to hold a significant amount of brand value. Another important issue is the variable domain names you should consider purchasing. For example, someone purchased ChrisGruler.com early in my career and is now trying to sell it to me for $3,000. So I bought ChrisRGruler.com because it is my next best option. This can be confusing so feel free to ask me more questions on this subject.

3. What is the most important video I should put on my site?

Not a highlight reel! Although highlight reels do serve a purpose, college coaches do not want to see the home runs you hit or how many stikeouts you throw in an inning. They are interested in mechanics, body type, movement, fielding agility, demeanor and how you interact with your team. Videos that highlight these attributes hold more value in a coach’s eyes.

Arizona Fall Baseball Symposium

I want to thank everyone who came out to the symposium this past weekend. I appreciate the opportunity to speak and share my story. It was a great event with a wealth of information shared, especially from Chris Sinacori @ PitchInside.com. I will be sending out an email to the attendees with additional information about the Player Profile Web sites. They received a great response and I want to make sure all questions are answered, as it was quite hectic towards the end. Thanks again to everyone and I look forward to doing it for the sophomores next weekend.

P.S. Sorry for saying um so many times. I’m terrible at that.

Interview with Ryan Bader

I pulled Ryan aside after one of his training sessions to chat with him about his Web site. We have had numerous conversations at the gym and he is one of the few professional athletes that understands the value of maintaining an online identity. It’s great to see him connecting with his fans on a daily basis on his Web site using videos and social networking. Although he does not have a Player Profile, he has the same philosophies in keeping his site visitors engaged.

I am in the process of writing a blog later this week about professional athletes and domains. The first step of online branding is owning your own domain – which a lot of athletes do not. Next comes the Web site. After the site is developed, it is a matter of keeping your fans interested in what you are doing on your platform.

If you use the Player Profile Web site, your visitors will want to be kept in the loop on how your season/training is going. These sites are perfect for that. A college coach will have no problem coming back to your site if he knows it will be updated regularly. It’s like having your own real time virtual sports card. Being proactive like Ryan Bader will allow you to take control of your own personal brand while keep your fans engaged and curious!

Player Profile Web site – Be Proactive

You are an amazing high school athlete, or you have a son/daughter with serious potential to get a scholarship in their respective sport. You have just started to do research regarding the best ways to get yourself or your son/daughter more visible to colleges. Whether you’re interested in recruiting services or actual sports camps at a prospective college, these are viable options which have shown to be successful in the past.

With internet technology and methods of recruitment continually changing, ProtegeBranding.com has developed a Player Profile Web site that enables athletes to be proactive in their careers and the recruiting process.

Let me explain the theory and model of our Player Profile Web sites….

While many online services are geared towards simply delivering scholarships (some are good, some are bad), we wanted to give you a “keys to the car” platform which enables you to send college coaches your Player Profile Web site with a simple click. The majority of the online services claim to have a database of thousands of college coaches and will regularly email “your” player page on your behalf. While this is technically true, do you know the conversion rate of how many coaches actually open these emails? It’s surprisingly minuscule.

Do you think our friend Pat Murphy at ASU has time to open an email, click on the player link, and then be forced to log in to the Web platform which privately hosts your recruiting site? No chance. In an effort to shamelessly add to their email database, other services will require a coach to create an account to actually be able to open up your profile page. Maybe you’ll get lucky and he does already have an account. Great, but unfortunately that means he has already seen at least one profile that is identical to yours.

Put yourself or your son/daughter in a position where Pat Murphy actually looks at your site and remembers it. With our Player Profile Web sites you will be able to send any coach a direct link to your personal site and he will immediately be able to see your videos, photos and other pertinent information. Coaches are inundated with bland profiles that require logins and sign ups – here is your chance to be unique and make a statement.

With Player Profiles you will have your own domain name, control what videos you post, and be able to blog whenever you want!

Our intention is not to bash or belittle other recruiting sites and services. Some of them actually do a great job and are helpful in placing an athlete in front of the right college. However, it is extremely important for our clients and potential site owners to always have control over their online branding process. The majority of recruiting sites do not do that.

If you have any questions at all please leave me a comment below or email me at chris@protegebranding.com. I will be happy to answer you to the best of my ability.

Please visit a live version at: ChrisRGruler.com (Imagine if this was your site and you sent it to Pat Murphy!)

Or even better, take the first step in being proactive and purchase it here! ProtegeBranding.com can completely customize your Player Profile Web site however you choose. From logo creation, color schemes, to eCommerce capabilities, “no” is not an answer for your site. Just email me your thoughts and ideas and we will produce a quote for you ASAP. You can also check out our Customized Player Profile Web site.
