Interview with UFC’s Aaron Simpson
Hey guys! ProtegeBranding.com was lucky enough to steal a quick interview after training last night with UFC Middle Weight Aaron Simpson. He is preparing for his fight next Monday night at UFC Fight Night 20 on Spike. Aaron does a fantastic job of video blogging on his site (SimpsonMMA.com) to keep his fans in contact with his daily training regiment. Some of his training videos are insane! He understands the value of real time media and the effect it has to his fans and his website. Every time he posts a new video, his traffic increases substantially. That equates to more online revenue for the athlete and great content for the fans! Good luck Aaron, you are a monster!
Be sure to follow him on Twitter and on Facebook!
Till Next Time,

Interview with Ryan Bader
I pulled Ryan aside after one of his training sessions to chat with him about his Web site. We have had numerous conversations at the gym and he is one of the few professional athletes that understands the value of maintaining an online identity. It’s great to see him connecting with his fans on a daily basis on his Web site using videos and social networking. Although he does not have a Player Profile, he has the same philosophies in keeping his site visitors engaged.
I am in the process of writing a blog later this week about professional athletes and domains. The first step of online branding is owning your own domain – which a lot of athletes do not. Next comes the Web site. After the site is developed, it is a matter of keeping your fans interested in what you are doing on your platform.
If you use the Player Profile Web site, your visitors will want to be kept in the loop on how your season/training is going. These sites are perfect for that. A college coach will have no problem coming back to your site if he knows it will be updated regularly. It’s like having your own real time virtual sports card. Being proactive like Ryan Bader will allow you to take control of your own personal brand while keep your fans engaged and curious!
